Courses about clean and sustainable energy generation with the most important element on earth: water
Hydropower is the backbone of renewable energy. Although traditional there is still a huge development in both design and technology. The continuously increasing economical, environmental and social challenges result in an increasing demand of specialists not only in Europe but all over the world. To become a specialist in Sustainable Hydropower means to acquire the ability of interdisciplinary engineering and the feeling of how to find compromises. Although there already exists some sectoral education in hydropower-related topics like hydrology or turbine technology at different European universities, there is still no comprehensive education affered focusing exclusively on Sustainable Hydropower.
International renowned experts will give lectures ( et al.) in their respective field.

CIPRA annual conference 2010: Alps to be in flux - peripheral regions between fallow land and hope
The countries of the Alpine Convention know not only economic centers, but also rural peripheral areas. These regions are faced with the particular challenges of out-migration: can you build your own future, if the preservation of jobs and life functions is uncertain? Is the quality of life sustainable? At the annual conference of CIPRA possible scenarios as well as economic, social and environmental conditions and consequences of rural migration to the peripheral space are discussed by means of concrete examples.

Borderless Conference "Nature Experience"
Nature Experience is a project Interreg IV to collaborate nature reserves in Slovenia, Carinthia and Styria.
The project partners hope to use the potential of their rural regions in the future and therefore use more marketing activities in order to build innovative infrastructure for the nature of experience and offer training seminars for local stakeholders.
On 23. 09. and 24. 09. a conference taking place in the natural park Zirbitzkogel-Grebenzen, interested persons are cordially invited to participate in.
